The more we love, the more we hate. The more we exercise it's the more we ache. The harder we laugh, the more teary our eyes break. The more knowledge we gain the more interests we have. We would think that getting more of one thing would bring satisfaction, but apparently this is not so. Isn't it funny how more attracts more? The more money we earn the more bills we have to pay, and so we strive to make more of the same. The more "likes" we gain, the more posts we have to make to keep likes coming again. It's obvious that people generally want more. More abstract means cluttering our relationships and emotions. In real terms or physically wanting more can potentially become clutter in our homes or other spaces we occupy. As we roll on we gather mass. But is the mass we gather much of what we need? This is the moment I look at you and decide this moment is short but long enough to tell you how I feel, yet not long enough to live the feel. I hear your breathing in my ear and feel a blood flush straight to my head in that moment. The moment never stayed for very long so everything is quick. It was surreal how we caressed but never touched and your masculine lips pampered my velvetty lips, in that moment  our embrace held us gently close to allow only the magical sensation of the moment to go through. In that moment my heart felt refreshed, but the moment would not stay, because moments go as fast as they come.

We met on a rare occasion, no intent at all A cheerful smile and friendly sincere embrace was meant only to be that; But today long after we met I find myself on every waking moment thinking about this stranger. A stranger who share a few ideals as I, why am I being haunted by you. The struggle to let go of something I never had and yet still fighting to hold on. The thoughts of us doing the things that friends do breathes comfort to my heart. It's my fantasy and somewhere deep down I hope will come true. I look to see for whats its worth when he called out to me," Aunty! Aunty!" Maldo is always pranking the adults in the house so we all got used to him. I remember one afternoon while his mom was at the back of the yard roasting breadfruit on the outside coal stove, Maldo ran up to her hysterically screaming "oh my gosh, oh my gosh! Mommy there's a lizard on the back of your shirt! His mom being afraid of lizards, frantically jumped up and stepped into the burning coal fire where the breadfruit was being roasted and hurt herself. Of course, this was one of Maldo's prank which caused a great deal of panic and anger that afternoon. He seemed remorseful and penitent at the time; however, that was short lived. He seemed to enjoy every moment of his pranks never mind the frustration they caused. There were 8 of us living in the family house. Our mom and dad, my sister and her family of four. Let me ride the waves of success until my beating heart decides to stop. Give me your blessings so that I might fly mindlessly without worry to a place where like minds thrive. If time allows as well as you I could take you on the journey with me to experience the surreal ness  of my flow. On one condition if I might add, that you lift your mind from gutters of worry and defiance to allow the flow to glide within. There's no  comfort in self torture as this will kill the soul. The gods of success can't have their way when gutters of worry prevail. There might be struggles of both worlds with the stronger conquering all. So I say, be mindful of that worry within but don't let it linger long. Refrain from that which vex the soul and plunge it into damn. Cling to that which is good and  success with you shall dine. The Power of Discipline is an excellent read, which delves into how to use self control and mental toughness to achieve your goals.

Over the last couple of years my life has been a constant rollercoaster - from one challenge to the next. Was it fun? Some of it. However, what I know is that they have made me stronger and taught me lessons I could not have learnt in a classroom. With my desire to become a story of success for myself and family. I am inspired to achieve goals I set.  Education was at the top of 'things to do list' and balancing the demands of family life, businesses and school came with their own challenges. Having to deal with a teenage son was I think my greatest challenge. When your child looks at you and say 'mommy you were no better than me, when you were my age'. It just hits you, at least that struck me and I had to step back and analyze and go into retrospect. Rebellion is a sword of contempt for parents which breeds anger and resentment to whomever dishes it. Disrespect on the other hand destroys a good spirit. During this period there was a move by the British Government to relieve the country from under its rule as being a crown colony and into an independent state. On August 6, 1962, the country saw the last of the Union Jack which is the national flag of the United Kingdom being lowered and replaced by the Jamaican Flag - The black, Green and Gold! What a celebration this must have been! The journey to independence was harsh and fatal for many of the natives - the Arawaks and Tainos who lived on the island. I thought as a child - for a girl to love a girl it was bad and not so bad. But for a boy to love a boy - then that’s really bad. I was raised to believe and accept that same sex is a horrible sin; it's immoral and has no place in the normal world. The norm in my world then, was boy and girl, man and woman, male and female - and that is final! Today people all over the world are fighting for this cause to decriminalize and to entrench it in their constitution as a right to love their own sex. On June 26, 2015, the US Supreme Court ruled that The US constitution guarantees that in all 50 states same sex couples have the right to marry. This is a fundamental decision for the LGBT community, who has been lobbying for this cause. For those who hold a different view as it relates to same sex relationships - this is a slap in their face and for the most part their religious beliefs. As the business environment becomes more and more competitive; entrepreneurs are encouraged to consistently upgrade and improve or diversify their skills and range of products and services they offer to satisfy the needs of customers in their specific line of business. Might I say, gone or soon gone are the days when customers are loyal because of excellent products or services. The emphasis is more now on the cost of those goods and services, as the spending power of the prospective customers and clients have been reduced drastically. They are less concerned now about quality and are now more focused on affordability. A storm in a tea cup, a tea bag in hot water. It hurt so bad to hear you say, I love you darling, but I can't stay. The way it started inconspicuous to us both, living our lives indifferently and never saw our flaws. We ignored our needs, and what made us strong - and now can't find our way back. It never occurred that at any time that we would come to this. The silence is deafening as it rips through the air, while the magnet of attraction seems lost because of this distance.
