It started just the way it should, the way she envisioned a good life to be. They started out as three - like the musketeers. A year past, and it was the perfect love story. Within three years their love multiplied and another was added to the fold- and they continued the way they should. Fours years into their story - The perfect love story now looks not so perfect. Her knight in shining armour now is changing his armour to another she's not aware.  Its now fifteen years into the journey and they have gathered much mass some for better and others for worse.  The three became six - then lost one of which was first . No one died, so why was one lost? Was the worse too much? She wonders everyday, why they ended up here, a place that is lonely, and loveless and filled with much despair. She feels like no one understands what's going on, and her knight is clueless without any care. Her heart bleeds with sorrow as the days go by, to see the life she never predicted unf...

The time has come to leave this all, make way for what is to come It's not in anticipation of anything special, it s just preparing for something that you know will happen. funny how we all want things to happen yet we are never truly ready for that change. Life has a way to throw things at us at some odd times - and ready or not here life comes. Inner strength and a positive outlook on the road ahead will help to motivate and propel our soul into untethered realms. It's really not what comes at us, but how we manoeuvre those uncharted course in our lives. Notwithstanding all this, we are created to be in control; hence by design we are more than conquerors. With this in mind, we should step out boldly, without fear of the future. Even though we are faced with all this uncertainty; we should never shy away from it. There is more to life than what meets our eye. Just imagine if we could actually see our lives from beginning to end. Then there would be no need to plan ahe...

She woke as early as 4:00 am daily to prepare breakfast, to fill the buckets and drums with water she catches at a nearby standpipe. She sweeps the yard and feed the chickens , then she bids us to wake up. "Early bird ketch Di most worm" she would say.  She never appeared weary of what she does, always looked fresh at the beginning of the day and ready to take on the challenges. "Hurry, hurry! Move up lively, don't drag your feet". These are some of the words she used to get us busy, so we could get out early for school. She always said education is the key, and manners carry you through the world. Even though she was barely literate she knew the importance of these two concepts (education & manners). I cannot recall been treated unfairly by her. She gave me everything she had and always said if I had more you would get, but satisfy with the little that I give you. You said "hello", I said "hi". You reached out to touch me and I pulled back. You asked "whats the matter?" and I said "nothing! , no need for that". Just look into my eyes and I stare  deep into yours and I feel warm and everything comes alive. My lips twitching in anticipation of what could never be. I reached out for you but I could not move, I felt your breath but you were never even close but I could hear the rhythm of your heart beat in the silence from the distance.  You pierced me with the intensity of your eyes looking deep into my soul, inviting me to linger just another moment, that, locked me in the embrace of your sincerity. Only a minute, just a second, just a glance then and I am in a trance. This is far more than I understand even though simple as it is it's complicated. I wrestle with this emotion, as it grows and weakens my own defense which is fainting over time. Should I continue to resist? Should I surrender and sa...

Its nice when the one you love, loves you in return; but it's far better when that love comes with respect and honour. Love is kind. There is love that says "I'm sorry that I made you feel bad or hurt your feelings" and there is " I don't care about how you feel, you piss me off so i'm going to tell you my mind!" In my mind I killed you many times. I made you feel bad, I walked out of our home that we made together and I even cheated on you. But, because of my cowardness these almost never came true; because I love, respect and honor the man I swore before God & Man to spend the rest of my life with. I am in chains because of this, that I know for real. If only I never had to be defensive at all times then maybe this would not be so. Is this how true happiness is or should be? Not at all! I think. I am just a misfit, that's all there is to it. I will suppress this pain inside until the time is right. Love suffereth long.

Is love important in a relationship? what is most important to you in your relationship with you partner? I believe you can actually respect someone, but hate them. However, I am not sure if you can love someone, and not respect them. I need some feedback.

Thank you Marcus! Thank you Marcus for opening my eyes. I would be so lost without you that's no lie.  Without you I wonder who would I be? Had you not come on Earth and opened my eyes to see. Thank you Marcus for teaching us racial pride.  From our glorious outstanding history we should never have to hide. You taught us that Africa is the cradle of civilization and that knowledge of our African past in us build self realisation. Thank you Marcus for teaching us to be confident, fearless warriors and giving us the mind set to  destroy all racial barriers. You always encouraged us to seek out our past. How you must laugh out loud when we proclaim "FREE AT LAST". Thank you Marcus for showing the road to Black Liberation, and emphasising 'Black Consciousness'  in our struggles against exploitation.
